Umai Group Unveils New Corporate Structure

The new unified structure reflects the growth of Umai Group’s business and lays the foundation for further expansion in retail, logistics, distribution, and other regional projects.
Umai Group (hereinafter referred to as “the Group”) announces a new phase in its development and the formation of a corporate structure under which Umai Group will serve as a holding company unifying the Group’s existing business lines and future projects in Central Asia.
Over more than 20 years, Umai Group has grown from a single store to become the largest company in Kyrgyzstan’s consumer sector. Today, the Group’s activities extend far beyond retail and include the development of modern logistics infrastructure, in-house manufacturing, and other areas.
The decision to establish the Umai Group holding company was made to leverage synergies between business units, improve management efficiency, and attract investment, implement new projects, and forge partnerships.
Within the holding company structure, the retail business in the Kyrgyz Republic will operate under the name Umai Retail, continuing to bring together the brands Globus, Narodny, Doctor, and SPAR, which are well known to customers. The Umai Group will also include projects in the fields of distribution, logistics, and infrastructure.
At the same time, the group will continue to develop and explore new opportunities in Central Asia as part of its long-term regional growth strategy.
Retail remains a key focus for Umai Group, and Kyrgyzstan is one of the Group’s primary markets for long-term development and investment. Stores and retail brands continue to operate as usual, and previously announced plans to expand the retail network and modern logistics infrastructure in the country remain unchanged.
Umai Group has already announced a number of major initiatives for 2026 aimed at further developing its business in Kyrgyzstan and expanding its presence in Central Asia. These include a partnership with the IFC to finance a new, modern distribution center in Bishkek, as well as the further development of the group’s regional business
Rud Pedersen, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Umai Group, commented:
“Over the past two decades, the company has grown significantly in terms of the scale of its business and the number of sectors in which we operate. The establishment of the Umai Group holding company is a natural reflection of this development and creates an effective corporate structure to manage the further growth of the group’s assets.
Retail remains at the core of our business, and we will continue to actively invest in its development in Kyrgyzstan. Our goal is to create a structure that will allow each business segment to develop independently while preserving the advantages and values of the unified Umai Group.”
